Clearview Middle School's mission and goal is to recognize the unique needs of our seventh and eighth grade students and provide them with the necessary instructional and non-instructional programs which will help them achieve the important skills needed for success. Our faculty has embraced this philosophy and challenges students to excel on a daily basis.
Six instructional teams provide curricular programs designed to build upon previous skills while working to prepare students for the state standards currently required for high school graduation. These teams also provide for smaller class size and serve to provide for a school within a school, maintaining each student's individual esteem and identity.
In all classes our district's technology committee has laid a strong foundation for growth in this area including a mandatory keyboarding class in eighth grade. Across the curriculum higher order thinking skills are stressed and encouraged with problem solving exercises being used to stretch the learner. To prepare seventh graders for immediate success, students are introduced to Reading and Study Skills. These important concepts are stressed in all subject areas. Our faculty is continually updated and in-serviced on the N.J. Core Content Curriculum Standards and teachers are implementing these state mandates in their daily instruction.
The middle school prides itself on meeting the individual instructional needs of all of our students. Programs addressing these needs include basic skills, gifted and talented, a summer at-risk program and an extensive special education department.
We feel we offer our students a high quality instructional program, one that will maximize their opportunity for success in the 9-12 high school years. However, we feel our greatest strength is in constantly seeking a better way to provide our students with the best educational program possible.
Our primary mission continues to be to raise the academic achievement and behavior pattern of our students. We feel strongly that our students must be challenged to perform at higher academic levels and must conform to expectations for appropriate behavior more consistently.
