Length: one year Grade Level:12 Credits: 5 This course is an introduction to the study of social psychology. Diverse personality theories such as behaviorism, psychoanasis, humanism, etc. will be analyzed and evaluated in order to better understand social interaction and behavior. The role of the brain and nervous system in affecting behavior is studied. An investigation of individuals with physical and psychological disabilities, with the hope of improving understanding and acceptance, will be conducted. Self-esteem activities are emphasized throughout the course, along with the development of social skills needed to help students cope with everyday adolescent problems and situations.
