Lawrence J. Trautwein Larry graduated from Clearview Regional High School in 1969. While at Clearview, Larry won varsity letters in Football (2), Baseball (4) and Basketball (3). Larry was All Conference his junior and senior years in basketball and All Gloucester County and All South Jersey in basketball his senior year. He was All Conference in baseball his senior year. Records such as most points in season, most rebounds in a game and season, most free throws in a game and season and most points in a game, are held by Larry at Clearview. He was voted Most Valuable Player in 1969. Larry went on to Elon College in North Carolina on a full basketball scholarship, played varsity basketball for 4 years, was All Conference for 3 years, All NAIA 2 years and Honorable Mention NAIA All American. As a result of his achievements at Elon College, Larry was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame at Elon. Larry then went on to play semi-pro basketball with the Cherry Hill Rookies Team and then was selected as Rookie of the Year. He spent some time in the Rookie Camp of the Philadelphia 76ers. Next Larry coached basketball at Paulsboro and Kingsway for 18 years with over 100 wins and 2 conference championships. Presently Larry is making his residence in Grasonville, Maryland. |
